Stakeholder engagement is the process by which an organisation involves people who may be affected by the decisions it makes or can influence the implementation of its decisions. They may support or oppose the decisions, be influential in the organization or within the community in which it operates, holds relevant official positions or be affected in the long term.
The aim of this course is to explore modern tools such as blogs, social networks, ‘wikis’ and its role in policy making. It will also involve a brief case study on how policies are developed in advanced democratic society, and what influences social media has on a policy making.
