Developing a National Policy for Taxing Natural Resources






This training will assist participants in designing effective taxation policies for natural resources, including navigating complex trade-offs between economic, environmental, and social objectives. Key considerations include determining appropriate tax rates, balancing revenue generation with industry competitiveness, addressing distributional impacts, and ensuring transparency and accountability in revenue management.

This course will also focus on policy effectiveness depending on the broader institutional context, including governance capacity, regulatory enforcement mechanisms, and stakeholder engagement processes.
